What is not permitted?
Firearms
Firearms cannot be listed on Details.at's core site. Firearms include all "pre-ban," sporting, collectible, curio & relic (C&R), and antique firearms, regardless of their capability to fire a shot. Any item that is designed to propel a metal (or similar) projectile is covered by this ban, regardless of that item's present ability to fire.
Related items
Other firearms related items that are not permitted on Details.at include BB guns, air guns, silencers, converters (any item which can convert a firearm to have automatic capability), kits (any kit that can be used to create a firearm), flares, flare launchers, flare guns, and the receivers for flare guns. Illegal components, such as silencers, converters (to convert a firearm to have automatic capability), and short barrels are prohibited.
Ammunition
High capacity magazines (magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds) and ammunition with propellant (such as gunpowder) cannot be listed. Blank ammunition is not allowed under our fireworks policy Details.at Fireworks Policy. Sellers must state the actual capacity of ammunition magazines they list on the site.
Ordinance
Generally, ordnance (military weaponry, ammunition and related parts) is not permitted, even if the user states that the item is "unserviceable" or has been "demilitarized" or "demilled," as Details.at cannot confirm that the item has effectively and permanently altered for lawful and safe transport and sale. However, unserviceable military type weapons may be listed if the listing contains a clear scan of official documentation from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms ("ATF") stating that the item is unserviceable or demilitarized - contact your local ATF office for more details on obtaining such documentation. Grenades
Grenades, including metal military practice grenades, rifle grenades, dummy grenades, grenade launcher attachments, and mines, may not be listed on Details.at. However, such items will be permitted if they are a relic, curio, memorabilia, or display item, that is filled with a permanent inert substance or that is otherwise permanently altered in a manner that prevents ready modification for use as a grenade.
Replicas Without Proper Markings
Federal and state laws require that replica, "look alike" and imitation firearms have clear markings permanently affixed to the weapon -- the most common requirement is a blaze orange plug inserted in the barrel of the item. This law applies even to novelty items, such as cigarette lighters, that are designed to look like firearms. Details.at will not permit the listing of any look-a-like weapon that does not comply with these laws.
What is permitted?
Some items that relate to firearms can be listed on Details.at. Permitted items should be listed in the appropriate category such as Collectibles: Militaria; Collectibles: Western Americana; or Miscellaneous: Sporting Goods: Hunting. These items include:
Legal firearm components
Most legal firearm components may be listed. Further, firearms related accessories, such as holsters, scopes, and ammunition without propellant may be listed. If Details.at cannot determine whether or not the ammunition listed has a propellant, that listing will not be permitted
Blank guns, replica or imitation guns, paintball guns and "airsoft" guns may be listed provided that:
� The item does not, and cannot be readily altered, to shoot a projectile (except for paintball guns or "airsoft" guns.)
� The receiver is not a firearm as classified by law. See
